Not Fair Oaks Homes
The following is a gallery of photos of buildings which are often listed
as Fair Oaks homes, but are not homes
in the current Fair Oaks boundaries. However, the owners may have identified
with Fair Oaks in the early days. We put these in so that unlabeled or
incorrectly labeled photos can be identified.
This home has been identified as the Haas residence on White Rock Road
This is the Deterding residence which was located near Manzanita
and Winding Way, the area now known as Carmichael. A number
of families in this area identified with Fair Oaks.
This is not a home, but the Four Gables Academy on Winding Way
near Illinois, a private school which many
of the children in the Kenneth and Illinois Avenue area attended.
This magnificent house is often misidentified as in Fair Oaks. It is the
Birch residence on Greenback near Pecan in Orangevale.

As the caption says, this is the Portwood residence in Orangevale. We haven't
researched its exact location.
