Stop 5 - Oaks Hardware

You have arrived at O’s Café. Just across the street is the BBQPro store, formerly Nardinelli’s Oaks Hardware. The building started out in the early 1900’s as the Highway Garage, the name later changed to Green’s Garage when Sim Green bought the business. It remained much as the photos show until about 1945 when it probably burned.

The current building was opened as Kellam’s Hardware and Variety about 1947. Don Lang bought the business in about 1951 and operated it as Oaks Hardware for several years before selling to Everett Nardinelli. Dick & Jeanne Hill bought the business in 1983 and son Dave inherited the property and converted it to BBQPro.

This the end of Loop 2. If the History Center is open, we would appreciate your coming in to tell us how it went.

Otherwise, send your comments to webhost@fairoakshistory.org.

Thanks for taking the tour.
